Culture
Chattanooga is best known for its decommissioned Chattanooga Choo Choo that now stands at the center of an entertainment complex. Don't call a sight of this train good enough: there are plenty of things to see and do around the southern city. Take a day to see the lovely sights on Lookout Mountain or hunch through the caves that dot the countryside. Catch a stunning performance at the Tivoli Theatre or cheer on the football team at Finley Stadium.
Outdoors
Explorations of nature and its nearly miraculous feats are one of the top reasons to visit Chattanooga. Places such as Raccoon Mountain Caverns and Ruby Falls let you take a look at some of the underground wonders of the world. Take a ride aboard the Southern Belle Riverboat to get a look at the town and its surroundings from a new angle or simply do your own thing in the open grounds of Booker T. Washington State Park.
Family-Friendly
Though located just across the border in Georgia, Lookout Mountain has some of the best sights. Ride to the top of the plateau aboard the Incline Railway or tour the sights natural and man-made in Rock City Gardens. A little closer to home, the Chattanooga Zoo and Tennessee Aquarium have giant creatures of the land and sea while the Playworld Down Under has amusements safe for younger kids.
